CHICO — Assisted by a drone, Chico police apprehended two men alleged to have intruded on a home Saturday.

Around 11 a.m., officers responded to a trespassing call in the 1500 block of W. Fifth Street. The owner of the residence, not home at the time, reported the intrusion after learning from a neighbor that someone was inside the house finds

Police called into the home for 30 minutes instructing any occupant to come out — and, after receiving no response, deployed an unmanned aerial device into the home. The drone located a man hiding in a bedroom.

Identified as Kevin Abbott, 33, from Chico, the man exited the residence and was taken into custody safely. Officers subsequently searched the home and found a second man, Jade Flinchum, 31, of Chico.

Abbott and Flinchum were arrested for trespass and resisting arrest, and were taken to the Butte County Jail in Oroville.
